The Koolie is rare on film as in life, but you can spot them occasionally, such as Russell Crowe’s sidekick in The Silver Brumby and the odd background dog in an Australian setting. (Also see Kelpie movies and Dingo movies.)
The title links will take you to Amazon movie pages (Reel Dogs earns a referral fee at no cost to you) or, for rarer titles, alternative sources for the films.

The Man from Snowy River * Year: 1982 * Country: Australia * Breed content: Low
Barking at the horse as he disembarks the ship. Also one or two background dogs that are hard to see.

Oscar and Lucinda * Year: 1997 * Country: Australia/UK/US * Breed content: Low
Many quick dog sightings, from a Lurcher to a Pomeranian. The Koolie travels with the wagon train.

The Silver Brumby * AKA: The Silver Stallion * Year: 1993 * Country: Australia * Breed content: Medium
“Monday is wash day, makes every doggie happy!”

The Thorn Birds * Year: 1983 * Country: US * Breed content: Low
This is a miniseries and technically out of the scope of Reel Dogs, which doesn’t deal with TV shows or animation. However there is some interesting canine content here. The dogs at the sheep station are in a few scenes and appear in great quantities.
