
The Chinese Shar-Pei, or just Shar-Pei, is one of those welcome film dogs who is simply impossible to mistake for anything else—even in a background shot. However, you won’t find them in any big starring roles.

The main dog is German Shepherd, Bo, descendant of London, (of The Littlest Hobo TV fame), but Shar-Pei “Li Chien Wu” is featured as a main part of the plot. The Billion Dollar Hobo is the only film we know with a Shar-Pei on the movie poster.

The Shar-Pei represents China on the canine council, despite most other countries being represented by breeds without any clear connection to that country.
