Collie-mix Casey is the main dog, also seen in Monster Mutt (2011). Many others have background parts. Producer Elizabeth Redleaf was so taken with the Belgian Laekenois that she adopted one of his relatives—a dog by the name of Albert.

The dog here looks startlingly like a Laekenois, although it seems unlikely there would be one in an American film from the 1950s. Perhaps a mixed-breed? Either way, Laekenois fanciers should take a look! Thanks to a Reel Dogs visitor for the tip on this film.
