The English Coonhound, also known as the American English Coonhound or Redtick Coonhound, is far from a usual suspect when it comes to performing dogs. Surprisingly, though, you can see this breed in two main film roles from the 1930s and 1970s.

All Roads Lead Home * Year: 2008 * Country: US * Breed content: Low
A Border Collie has a small role, and many dogs are seen in glimpses, mostly at the very end, including a quick sighting of an American English Coonhound.
The Nashville Coyote * Year: 1972 * Country: US * Coyote content: Low
One of many in a series of Wonderful World of Disney TV coyote films. A wide range of hunting dogs is featured, with only a few glimpses of English Coonhounds in the pack. Also a main role for an American Foxhound.

Sounder * Year: 1972 * Country: US * Breed content: Medium
Based on the classic novel by William H. Armstrong. Despite the title being the dog’s name, Sounder has more of a background role than a star player.

The Voice of Bugle Ann * Year: 1936 * Country: US * Breed content: Medium
With a variety of coonhound breeds, including the star American English Coonhound pup, Bugle Ann. (The film is rare and the above link is to the novel.)
